2x20way pin header, Pass Through. The pins are about 10mm long to allow a pass-thru connection after soldering to a pcb (eg. RTC).
Please note that whilst cheaper connectors are available, we bought a cheap one only to find that the pins are rather thin (0.53mm square). Most pins are 0.64mm square (like the GPIO pins on a Raspberry Pi)
We found that a GPIO cable almost falls off the 0.53mm pins if turned upside down.
It would make a very unreliable connection.
Our connector uses 0.64mm square pins that are approximately 10mm long with a total connector length of approximately 23mm.
n.b. If you were soldering to the pins then the thinner pins would be fine but we expect many if not most people to plugging in connectors (Hats etc.) or cables in which case full size pins are essential for good contact.
